Decorations for a Beijing Summer Olympics Party

There are hundreds of decorations that can turn your party site into a Olympic stadium in a jiffy. We suggest that you concentrate most of your decorating toward the Patriotic theme – with flags, bunting, red, white and blue items, and Olympic equipment such as basketballs and swim goggles. This year’s games are being held in Beijing, China so a Chinese theme will also work wonders. You can add to this summery scheme a few touches of the Olympic colored rings and some ancient Greece related items as well.

With that in mind, here are some tips to help you create the atmosphere that you are dreaming of for your Olympic themed celebration!

Outdoor Decorations:
• Hang a US Flag Door Decoration on your front door to greet your fellow fans.
• Hang a USA Banner across your front porch or front railing to voice your allegience to the USA team.
• Create a dazzling entrance and photo setting with the I Love USA Entrance.
• If you’re going with the Chinese theme, try some Shanghai Columns or an Evening in the Orient Pagoda to create a fun entrance or photo setting.

Indoor Decorations:
• Keep your eyes open for posters of previous Olympians and flags of various countries. Hang these around the room as well.
• Don’t underestimate the power of decorating with balloons! You could either use a white and blue combination for the summer theme, or bunch together all of the Olympic colors for a more fun look.
• A fun twist to the decorating scheme would be to play up the Greek history of the Olympics. Use gold and white and lots of ivy to represent this. Purchase some gold ivy garland and twist it around to look like a crown. Place these on your tables for a cute centerpiece.
• If you’re using the Chinese theme decorate your party with mini fans, Chinese paper lanterns, and stylish Asian parasols.

Table Decorations and Napkins:
• Cover your tables with white table covers and Sprinkle some metallic star confetti or Chinese character confetti down the center of the tables. If you want to add more color to your table, use fabric paint and write “USA” and draw small flags randomly on the tablecover.
• Add some elegant candle light to your tables with patriotic luminaries or floating stars candles in a pretty bowl of water.  The Asian Elegance Votives are another great pick.
• Use our Gold Metallic Plates for your tableware to encourage the gold-medal winning spirit! Combine these with U.S. Pride Tableware for a perfect match.
• Set Chinatown Pails on your tables as great decorations or party favors. Fill them with sweets and favors.
