Hello Kitty Cake for a Perfect Birthday Treat

Create a Hello Kitty cake for the birthday girl and she’ll be absolutely delighted. Creating your Hello Kitty cake isn’t as hard as it may seem.

What you’ll need:
• 2 boxes cake mix of your choice
• 2 cans of vanilla ready-made frosting
• 2 13 x 9” cake pans (or use 1 and cook cakes separately)
• Black writing gel
• Yellow and black gumballs (small ones)
• Pink fondant or a piece of pink ribbon
• Black writing gel

First, bake the cakes according to the instructions on the box. Freeze the cake overnight.

Create a template in the shape of Hello Kitty’s face on a large piece of wax paper, foil, or paper. Look at a picture of Hello Kitty to do this. The shape of her head is simple and easy to cut. While the cake is still frozen, layer your two 13×9” cakes together and place the template on top. Using a large knife, cut around the edges of your template. (Enjoy the scraps of cake!).

Frost the cake, using frosting to secure the two layers of the cake together in the middle. Be sure to smooth the frosting on the top of the cake. This will be Hello Kitty’s face!

Use black gumballs to make Hello Kitty’s eyes. You can also do this with black writing gel. The yellow gumball is Hello Kitty’s nose. Use black writing gel to draw on whiskers too.

Finally, create Hello Kitty’s ribbon. Shape the fondant into the ribbon or tie a bow out of a scrap of pink ribbon and secure to the cake with a dab of frosting. The ribbon can simply be removed when it’s time to cut the cake.

This cake is deceptively simple to make, so you’re really going to wow your guests and the birthday girl!

Start your decorating with the Hello Kitty Party Kit, which includes Hello Kitty tableware, invitations, iridescent star confetti, white balloons, pink balloons, cerise curling ribbon, and a blue tablecover. The Deluxe Kit also includes a 10”x 30” personalized banner, an 18” flower mylar balloon, fuchsia crepe streamers, azure blue crepe streamers, and Hello Kitty mini molded candles.

Create backdrops for your decorations using gossamer, tulle, or netting. These materials are easy to work with and reusable. They’re available in girly colors like pink, purple and white. Plus, the netting and tulle have a subtle shimmer perfect for a Hello Kitty party. Use it for swags, curtains, drapes, chair bows or tablecovers.

Use streamers to add extra touches to your decorations. Metallic foil streamers add some shimmer while gossamer streamers offer a softer touch. Hang twinkle lights around the room for a soft glow.

You can personalize your party with customized memories murals. Use a picture of the birthday girl and add your personalized birthday wish. They make a big impression at your party and a fantastic keepsake for years to come.

Table Decorations:

Pull al your decorations together with a well-decorated table. Use the Hello Kitty Kit-N-Kaboodle to decorate your tables.

Start by covering tables with a blue or pink tablecover. Sprinkle confetti over the top of the table and add a Hello Kitty honeycomb centerpiece to the center. You can spruce your table up further by accenting your centerpiece with pink and white balloons or a Hello Kitty mylar balloon.

Next, set each place with Hello Kitty tableware from the Hello Kitty Party Kit. The tableware also is great for decorating before the party starts! Create cutlery bundles using Hello Kitty napkins and curling ribbon.

Party favors also make great table decorations. Add small favors to each place setting for fun decorations guests can take home with them. For example, add Hello Kitty parasol straws to each place and some Hello Kitty mini molded candles around the table. Personalized a pink daisy mirror with each guest’s name and use them as placecards.
