Baby Shower Invitations for the King or Queen of the Jungle

A King of the Jungle or Queen of the Jungle party is a great theme for a first birthday party or baby shower! Just coordinate the theme according to the baby’s gender. Once you’ve selected this theme, choose a slogan to use in invitations, personalized favors and custom vinyl banners. Here are some suggestions:
• “Welcome Baby Jones to the Wild World!”
• “Join Queen Maggie for her First Birthday!”

After picking a slogan, create invitations to send out to your guests, inviting them to the festivities. The King of the Jungle and Queen of the Jungle Party Kits have matching paper invitations you can write your party details in and mail out to guests. Add a pinch of confetti for extra flair.

If you can hand-deliver invitations, make tags with the party details on your computer and print them out. Using curling ribbon or a small piece of tape, attach the invite to a plastic pith helmet and encourage guests to wear the hat to the party. It will really get them in the party mood!

Activity Ideas for a King or Queen of the Jungle Baby Shower

For your King of the Jungle or Queen of the Jungle Baby Shower, you can stay to the basics of baby shower games. For example:

Guess how wide around the mom-to-be’s belly is with toilet paper squares. The guest who comes closest to the number of squares it takes to go around Mom wins. (Hint: the number should be low. Don’t underestimate the width of the squares!)

Stat a pool of bets for when the baby will be born, how big he/she will be, and other fun predictions such as eye color, color of hair, etc.

Have guests bring baby pictures then play a matching game pairing each guest to their photo. The most correct answers wins!

For theme-oriented activities, have craft time with the Jungle Animal Foam Craft Kit. Guests can make their own animals and have fun talking about baby while they work.

Guests will also love taking commemorative photos with the Lion Photo Stand-In. It makes a great decoration and is fun to pose with.

The Deluxe Kit also includes a 10” x 30” personalized banner, a lion mylar balloon, pink crepe streamers, canary yellow crepe streamers, and birthday candles.

Welcome guests to your party with a Jungle Jimmy Personalized Banner or a Jungle Janey Personalized Banner. You can add your own custom wording to the banner printed on heavy-duty, weather-resistant vinyl. Plus, the banners are available in seven different sizes and make great keepsakes.

Create a backdrop for your party to really make your room have a jungle feel. There are several patterns of gossamer perfect for this theme. Use cheetah print gossamer, zebra print gossamer, alligator print gossamer or earth tone gossamer to make curtains, drapes, swags and other accents. Check out our gossamer tips for tons of ideas.

Use balloons to fill up your party space. Create balloon bunches in odd numbers (3, 5, 7…) using wild safari animal print balloons. Use curling ribbon to attach the balloons to the back of chairs or balloon weights. If you don’t have access to a helium tank, blow up the balloons and scatter them around the room or hang them from the ceiling with varying lengths of curling ribbon.

Add some animals to your jungle! Inflatable animals (giraffes and zebras) are great for adding accents while you can create an awesome focal point with Gorilla, Lion and Tiger Standees. Instead of the stork, use a Baby Elephant Standee for this theme. Hang some Linked Jungle Monkeys along your wall for a fun accent.

Add some jungle style to your decorations with a palm leaf thatching accent. The thatching is great for room dividers or creating a thatched roof effect. The real dried palm leaves measure 46” x 54”.

Create a fun setting for guests to take commemorative photos using the Monkey Arch & Tree Kit. The kit also makes a cool entrance to your party.

Table Decorations:

A well decorated table is a baby shower necessity for all those snacks. Decorate your tables with the King/Queen of the Jungle Kit-N-Kaboodles.

Start by covering the table with the chocolate brown tablecover or with some palm leaf thatching. Over the top sprinkle some iridescent star confetti. In the center add a King or Queen of the Jungle centerpiece.

Next, set each placesetting with King or Queen of the Jungle tableware. It all coordinates for a polished finish. You can create cutlery bundles using King or Queen of the Jungle napkins or personalized napkins and curling ribbon.

Add some party favors to your tables for a finishing touch. Favors make cool decorations that guests can take home with them. Place a plastic canteen or a pair of toy binoculars at each seat. Add some safari personalized votive candles for a final accent.
