Super Bowl Football Party Games

You’ve purchased your football party supplies. Now, plan on keeping everyone at your Super Bowl bash entertained with games that aren’t just for football sports nuts! Even if you don’t know the difference between a quarterback and a cornerback, these football party games will keep everyone cheering. Plus, many don’t even require you to leave the recliner!

  • No Super Bowl party is complete without the traditional scoring squares game! Draw a grid with 121 squares (or create one in Microsoft Excel) on a piece of paper. At the top of the paper, number the squares 0 to 9. Be sure to leave the square in the upper left-hand corner blank. Label the numbers at the top “NFC Team Score”. Number the squares on the left 0 to 9, again leaving the square in the upper left-hand corner of the page blank. Label this the “AFC Team Score”. Have each guest pay $5 (or whatever fee you choose; the bigger the fee, the bigger the winner’s pot!) and sign his or her name in a square. The numbers at the top and bottom represent the last digit (or only digit for scores under 10) of the NFC or AFC team’s score. At the end of the game, the person whose name lines up with the numbers that match the score wins the pot! For example, if the final score was Colts (AFC team) 27, Vikings (NFC team) 10, the person who bought the square that corresponds with the 0 at the top and 7 on the left wins! Some party hosts may choose to award a pot at the end of each quarter. This really keeps everyone watching the game!
  • At halftime, play a field goal game of your own with a Tabletop Football Set. The game includes a 5 inch x 6 1/2 inch plastic assorted color goalpost and a 2 3/4 inch rubber football. Snap your fingers at the ball to kick field goals across your party snack table. You and your friends can play for hours.
  • Young guests at your football party will love this activity! Have are real football on hand on which each child adds his or her own touch with permanent markets (like a grafitti ball!). Have the kids write their names on a piece of paper and raffle off the ball at the end of the party!
  • Play “Rate the Commercials”. Give each guest a sheet of paper numbered 1-5 when they arrive at the party. Have them rank their favorite commercials and compare at the end of the game! Better take those restroom breaks during a timeout!
